Welcome to Sixth Grade Math and the 2016-2017 school year at NJH!  I am looking forward to this year and having the opportunity to work with a great group of students and parents!

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I have over 20 years experience teaching with this being my 11th year teaching 6th grade math and second year at NJH.  I love teaching math and I hope to share my enthusiasm with my students.

My conference period is 6th period, 1:23 - 2:09.  You may contact me during the day at peytonk@navasotaisd.org or call the office, 936-825-4225.  I will get back with you after school, usually by 5:00.

I will be offering tutorials after school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons, 4:00-4:30.

Homework assignments will be given on Tuesdays and Thursdays, due the following day. I will be posting a tentative test schedule by the end of this week.

You will find a copy of the newsletter attached with additional information.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you!

STAAR Math Test

Monday, May 8, 6th grade students will take their Math STAAR Test.  Students have been busy participating in Math STAAR Boot Camp and they have all worked so hard.  I am so proud of them!  I am expecting great results from the 6th grade students!

Please make sure your child goes to bed early on Sunday evening and eats a healthy breakfast on Monday  morning.  Testing will begin as soon as students get to their assigned testing room and all get their testing material.

It has been a joy to work with your child this year.  They have grown a lot academically, emotionally, and physically.  It is hard to believe the year is almost over.  It has been a great year!  Thank you for the opportunity to work with your child!  I have been blessed!
