ELAR (English Language Arts Reading) - In this course your child will be Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, Presenting and Thinking. Individual as well as group work will be given via direct instruction and centers. Technology and creativity are encouraged in this classroom. Students will learn and build on; various parts of speech, development of essays and poems, drawing conclusions within text, and developing a range of vocabulary and tone within their writing.
Grading: Daily Work 60% Test/Projects 40%

Late Work: Late work will be accepted. It must be completed. You will not receive a grade higher than 70 on completed "late work" unless an extenuating circumstance has occurred or at the discretion of the teacher.
Supplies: 2 composition books with paper covers are requested- one for notes and one for journal writing

Pencils, Pens, erasers, paper, ear buds, glue, scissors, colored pencils or markers, highlighters should be brought to class everyday.
Additional supplies may be requested at any time to finish projects etc.
Class Dojo is the platform I will be using for classroom management within my class. Please contact me for a code if you have not already received one for your child. Points will be awarded for good behavior and taken away for negative behavior. Points can be cashed in for prizes as time permits. Please do not pay attention to the "negative percentage" as point redemption will be noted. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
