Our students are unbelievably busy with academic and extra-curricular activities this time of the school year! NJH 8th graders went to the Buffalo Soldier exhibit and presentation at the Bush Library, a local historian made presentations to 7th grade students through their Social Studies classes, and tennis and track practices and meets are keeping the athletes busy. Golf practice started this week. History Fair winners are planning their trip to the State History Fair in Austin in May, and our Science Fair winners will be competing at the Regional Science Fair in Kilgore March 4-5. The dedication our teachers give to the students at NJH is phenomenal.
Additionally, enrichment classes have begun for all students. The first twenty minutes of each Monday through Thursday is devoted to ensuring success for all students in the TAKS assessed subjects as well as providing enriching instruction in subjects we don't usually have time for during the school year.
