News and Announcements

Young Ladies Success Seminar
Our vision is to expose young ladies in grades 6-12 to collegiate and career opportunities, to boost their self-esteem, and empower self-responsibility to create success in school and in life.
To achieve this vision, The Young Ladies Success Seminar was created in 2012. Our overall theme is, “Falling in Love with Success.” Young ladies will have an opportunity to participate in an essay contest, attend motivational sessions, and hear from successful career women.

Our keynote speaker will be Executive Chef Ciana Neubauer, Owner of The Chocolate Gallery in Downtown Bryan. She is a graduate of A&M Consolidated High School, attended Texas A&M University and later transferred to the Culinary Institute of America. Her topic will be, “Your Dreams Can Come True.” The announcement of the essay winners and drawing for door prizes will take place at the end of the seminar.
Call for Gifted & Talented Nominations
Navasota ISD schools are currently accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented (GT) program. Nomination forms are available in the front office on each campus and will be accepted from January 21 - February 4, 2015. Parents, teachers, and community members are encouraged to nominate any student who exhibits exceptional potential in a specific academic field. Any nominations received after the February 4 deadline will not be screened for the GT program until the next academic school year.

According to research, a gifted and talented child is usually more advanced in processing knowledge and information, more mature developmentally, and more sophisticated in product or work performed than his or her peers. Such students are capable of high performance, particularly when they experience differentiated education. The GT Program in NISD is designed for these types of students who need services and activities not ordinarily provided by the regular classroom teacher.
