NAVASOTA ISD SCHOOL BOARD RAISES STARTING TEACHER SALARY TO $50,000 FOR 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR

The decision to increase teacher salaries, a minimum of 10% at every step reflects the district's commitment to enhancing the quality of education in NISD and attracting and retaining talented teachers. The updated salary structure ensures that Navasota ISD remains competitive with other school districts in the Brazos Valley area, enabling the district to attract and retain high-performing teachers and staff.

"Our teachers and staff are the backbone of our district and we are thrilled to announce these important changes to our teacher salary schedule," said Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick. "We believe that by increasing our starting teacher salaries, we will be better positioned to recruit and keep the most talented teachers, ultimately benefitting our students and the entire Navasota community."

The district remains committed to updating and increasing academic, performing arts, and athletic stipends, along with enhancing the compensation plans for instructional aides, maintenance personnel, child nutrition staff, counselors, principals, and administrators. A proposal for these roles will be submitted for Board approval during the regular school board meeting scheduled for May 15th.

The Board's decision to increase teacher salaries is a testament to NISD's commitment to providing an excellent education for its students, as well as to supporting and valuing its employees.
